Accountant-General sentenced to 70 years imprisonment

Mohammed Dakingari,who was the Kebbi State Accountant-General until the incident of fraudulent acts has been sentenced to 70 years imprisonment for fraud.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kebbi found him guilty of N1.6 billion fraud.

Dakingari,as stated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had earlier been discharged and acquitted by the Kebbi State High Court , but the Court of Appeal today overruled it and upheld the EFCC appeal.

Dakingari was initially arrested and detained by the EFCC in Abuja back in 2013 for reportedly using a company, Beal Construction Nigeria Limited, that is owned by him, to award various contracts to himself.
